Your savings can do more.
Save with Wessex Community Bank and help support local people, projects and communities while building your own savings.
Why save with Wessex Community Bank?
Your savings are still your money. The difference is that while they’re with us, they also help us lend to other members and support the communities we’re part of.
You save
Choose the account that works for you and build your savings at a pace that suits you.
We put it to work
Your savings, alongside those of other members, give us the money we need to lend responsibly.
It helps other members
That money helps us make loans and gives Wessex Community Bank the strength to keep serving more people.
Your money can do two things at once.
You’re saving because you want money put aside for yourself. That might be for something you’re planning, an unexpected bill or simply because having savings gives you more options.
When you save with Wessex Community Bank, your money also becomes part of the funds we use to lend to other members. Your savings stay yours, but while they’re here they’re helping the bank do something useful too.
And because thousands of members save with us, lots of individual savings balances add up to something much bigger.

A few things worth knowing
Open a section if you’d like a little more detail.
Some of our savings accounts pay a dividend or bonus rather than interest. The important difference is that a dividend or bonus depends on how the bank performs and isn’t guaranteed.
We use targeted rates. That means we publish the rate we expect to be able to pay and review our projections every quarter. If circumstances change, the amount ultimately paid can change too.
Your savings stay yours, but they also become part of the money available to Wessex Community Bank.
We use members’ money to support our lending and investments, while making sure the bank remains financially strong and has enough money readily available.
We’re not interested in chasing short-term returns at any cost. We want members’ money managed carefully and used in ways that make sense for the bank and the communities we serve.
Put simply, we want your savings to work for you and the bank you own.
Yes. Members’ savings are an important part of how Wessex Community Bank works. They help give us the resources we need to lend to other members.
They also help support the wider work we do through the Wessex Community Bank Foundation and our community grants.
Our quarterly grants put money directly into local grassroots organisations, while our wider approach is to manage members’ money carefully and put it to useful work.
Your savings remain your money. But while they’re with us, they’re also helping a member-owned bank lend, grow and support the communities around it.
