What ID do we need?

It’s pretty simple. We normally need one document that proves who you are and one that proves where you live.

Pick one from List A This proves your name and identity.

Pick one from List B This proves your current address.

Upload both Send them through our secure Document Portal.
One important thing. You can’t normally use the same document for both List A and List B.
List A

Proof of who you are

Choose one of these.

Current full or provisional photo card driving licence

Current full EU or EEA photo card driving licence
✓
EU or EEA national identity card
✓
Current valid shotgun licence or firearms certificate
✓
UK government issued residency permit
✓
Current valid Northern Ireland electoral identity card
✓
Benefits entitlement letter dated within the last 6 months
✓
HMRC tax notification letter issued in the last 12 months
✓
Armed forces or military ID card
✓
Identity letter from a care provider, homeless team or support worker on headed paper confirming who you are and that you are known to them
List B

Proof of where you live

Choose one of these.

✓
Current full EU or EEA photo card driving licence if you didn’t use it for List A
✓
HMRC tax notification letter issued in the last 12 months
✓
Local authority council tax bill for the current tax year
✓
Benefits entitlement letter dated within the last 6 months
✓
Recent utility bill issued within the last 6 months. Mobile phone bills are not accepted
✓
Recent bank, building society, credit card or mortgage statement showing your current address and an active account
✓
Tenancy agreement or rent payment schedule from a housing association, local authority or public sector landlord, dated within the last 12 months
✓
Valid shotgun licence or firearms certificate
What if I don’t have anything from List A?

Don’t worry. In some cases we may be able to accept three documents from List B instead.

We may also be able to carry out an online identity check. If you think this applies to you, contact us before uploading your documents.
